Daily Habits of a Fitness Model

Getting in top fitness model shape is a challenge, but staying in that top physical condition is even tougher! Being a fitness model, I could be called in for a casting or a shoot with almost no warning at all! Sometimes this is scary, but that gives me the motivation to always ready to take on any opportunity that comes my way! 

 

I am also a personal trainer and director of my online training guide business called #CrockFit! With this experience I have learnt a lot. The success of my client’s health & fitness journey is fully dependent on their day to day habits; whether their goal is to drop body fat, increase muscle, gain fitness or all of the above.

Steering my clients away from the appeal of FAD diets and quick fixes in the direction of adopting small habitual changes has been one of the most important factors in my coaching, for life long results.

 Here I have listed the top 4 things I do every single day without fail. If you make these 4 actions a part of your daily check list, I promise you it will change your life.  Talking of habits, I have purposely included these 4 habits because I do ALL of them every day without thinking about it… it just happens now!

 Drink Your Greens

I drink a minimum of one portion of greens powder every day. If you go to any health store, you can pick up sachets/tubs of a powder that consists of a variety of super green sources. You simply have one portion mixed with water and drink at any time of day!

So what are some of the benefits?

       Hydration

       Energy, vitality

       Good digestion

       Alkalinity restoration

       Increase weight loss

       Great skin, hair, nails

       Decrease cravings 

 

Move Your Body

Every single day I do something that involves me moving my body! This doesn’t mean I always get to the gym and go crazy and ‘smash a workout’, but sometimes something much less intense.

I take a couple of rest days a week. On these days I make sure I enjoy a nice long walk, some yoga/stretching routine, or maybe I just make sure my busy day is filled with moving around quite a lot (shopping, housework, etc).  This is so simple and quite easy to achieve if it’s planned in and prioritised. Although we burn calories whilst working out, our main calorie burn is actually dependent on how active we are in our daily activities! And this is one way to take advantage of burning fat the easy way.

So what are some of the benefits?

       Promotes weight loss

       Good for your heart

       Lowers blood pressure

       De stress

       Prevents colds

       Plays a role in preventing cancer

       Improves brain health

       Improves sleep patterns

 

See Daylight

I know this is sometimes tricky for some people, as all of our lives can get busy and change on a daily basis but it is so important to let your skin get some sunlight and take in the fresh air.  

So what are some of the benefits?

       Treating depression/mood enhancer

       Improving sleep patterns

       Natural pain relief

       Lowers blood pressure

 

Spice Up Your Life

I have this weird habit in the kitchen where, whenever I am cooking I HAVE to add spices. For best health and fitness results use a variety of spices, but here are my top recommendations I have all the time – cayenne pepper, cinnamon, turmeric, cumin, ginger (the list goes on).

So what are some of the benefits?

       Increase metabolic rate

       Heart health

       Lowers blood pressure

       Lower blood sugar

       Reduction of inflammation

 

The thing about habits, is that they are hard to break and also hard to build. With this being said, when making your first changes you will come across challenges, you’ll need reminding and you’ll have constant urges to restore old habits that are damaging to your health.

My suggestion is to really focus on that initial 3 week period as a goal, and if you succeed through this then that new act will most probably have become a habit! That feeling of self achievement alongside the obvious health and fat loss results will make you feel on top of the world.

Bit by bit, day by day, you can start to make small changes to a better, healthier and fitter you.
